Privacy Policy

Vestia ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Vestia mobile application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — for authentication and account recovery
- Name — if you sign in with Apple and choose to share it
- User ID — a unique identifier for your account
Wardrobe Data
- Photos of clothing items — uploaded to create your digital wardrobe
- Clothing metadata — type, color, style, and season of each item
- Wear history — when you mark outfits as worn

Automatically Collected
- Crash data — anonymous crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability
- Subscription status — managed through Apple's App Store
2. How We Use Your Information
- AI Outfit Recommendations — Your wardrobe metadata (item type, color, style, wear count), weather forecasts, and style preferences are sent to our AI service (powered by Anthropic Claude) to generate outfit suggestions. Your clothing photos are never sent to the AI.
- Image Processing — When you add a clothing item, the photo is sent to our backend for background removal and segmentation. Photos are processed in real-time and not retained beyond the processing session.
- Account Management — Email is used for authentication. Name is used for personalization.
- App Improvement — Anonymous crash data helps us fix bugs.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. We use HTTPS for all network communication.
5. Data Retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active
- Wardrobe photos — retained until you delete the item or your account
- AI processing — Anthropic retains API inputs for up to 30 days per their data retention policy. They do not train models on API data.
- Crash reports — retained for 90 days
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account from Settings in the app. When you request deletion:
- A 30-day grace period begins (you can cancel during this time)
- After 30 days, all your data is permanently deleted: profile, wardrobe items, photos, outfit plans, wear history, and notification preferences
- Photos are removed from Firebase Storage
- This action is irreversible after the grace period
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data through the app at any time
- Export your data by contacting us
- Delete your account and all associated data from the app
- Revoke any device permission at any time through iOS Settings
8. Children's Privacy
Vestia is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
